Insulation

Modern interior standards

We begin with deep site excavation, damp proofing, and insulation to secure the foundation. Where an older building needs it, we underpin to strengthen what's aready there. Then we lay the base for under-floor heating, ready to connect to a heat pump or existing boiler.

We take the interior walls back to bare stone, then render and tank them to keep the rain out. Walls can be re-modelled to open the space up, or put back as they were.

We re-roof with treated structural timbers built to last, set under modern breathable membranes that keep the water out while letting the roof breathe. Done properly, it'll stand for the next generation.

Roofing & timbers

We insulate throughout to modern standards, using materials that suit old buildings — warm and weather-tight, without trapping damp in walls that need to breathe.

We bring light into traditional buildings with skylights, windows, and doors — opening the space up without losing the character of the original.

We finish with complete heating, plumbing, and electrics, bringing the building up to full modern living standards — a home built for the next century.

A full structural renovation of a derelict eighteenth-century barn. We secured the hillside, rebuilt the collapsed gable end, and installed modern underfloor heating throughout.
